The second tender mercy of that Sunday was an experience we had with Blaine's family he visit teaches - Sister Lou Vrabec.
Blaine likes me to go home teaching with him. At church I felt prompted to ask him about visiting her that day, but when we rode home, he had also been thinking about her. She is a widow in her 70s who has lived alone, up until a couple of months ago.
So, we set up a time to go that evening. After we visited for a while, Lou brought up a question. She told us she was going in for surgery on her eye a week from that Monday, and wondered if Blaine would come back and give her a blessing the next Sunday, before her surgery.
I felt the Spirit surge. It was sweet and peaceful. That is why we were both prompted to go that night! She needed and wanted a Priesthood blessing before her surgery. We also found out her adult daughter is living with her. She is not active.
We were grateful we followed the Spirit's prompting.
